Note: While poems need not rhyme, nor be written in any special form, the adjudicator will look for a feeling for words, shape, imagery, rhythm - an understanding of the craft of poetry.

901 Own Verse - 10 years and under A poem of own composition read by the 31st January. Time limit 3 minutes.
902 Own Verse - 12 years and under A poem of own composition read by the author or an appointed reader. A copy must be submitted to the Festival Co-ordinator by 31st January. Time limit 3 minutes.
903 Own Verse - 16 years and under A poem of own composition read by the author or an appointed reader. A copy must be submitted to the Festival Co-ordinator by 31st January. Time limit 3 minutes.
904 Own Verse - Open A poem of own composition read by the author or an appointed reader. A copy must be submitted to the Festival Co-ordinator by 31st January. Time limit 3 minutes.
