FESTIVAL INTERMEDIATE RECITAL AWARD

AND WILL BE OFFERED A PUBLIC RECITAL OPPORTUNITY IN THE
GORLESTON ST. ANDREW'S FESTIVAL FINALS EVENING, 28th MARCH 2009

The Intermediate Recital Class (RECINT) is independent of the remainder of the Festival awards. Results in this class will not be eligible for award of other trophies. The Class Final will be judged by a Festival adjudicator during the Festival fortnight, whose decision will be final.

Syllabus requirements:

The standard will be that of "Intermediate" classes in other areas of the Festival, that is, Grade 5-6.

Competitors should present a recital of at least 3 works or movements, within the overall time limit of 10-12 minutes.

Credit will be given for choice of programme, presentation and platform manner, and performing from memory, in addition to normal criteria.

Competitors may not select items from any of the set lists in the Festival Syllabus. Where the main syllabus is based on examination board lists, pieces appearing in these lists may be offered for the Recital classes, if the competitor wishes.

Competitors may not present items in the Intermediate Recital class which they are performing elsewhere in the Festival.

The award may be witheld if, in the opinion of the adjudicators, adequate standards are not reached.
